What is Turnitin's file size limit?

Turnitin accepts files up to 100MB, but submission portals that integrate Turnitin often enforce lower limits of 10-25MB.

What about thesis and dissertation PDFs?

Thesis PDFs can be large with embedded figures and appendices. Target 25-50MB for quality preservation, or 10MB for portal compliance.

Can I compress a PDF with embedded research charts?

Yes — charts and graphs compress well at moderate targets. Set 10MB to maintain research-quality visuals.

What if my university requires PDF/A?

Compress PDF for University — Everything You Need to Know

University submission portals — whether using Turnitin, Blackboard, Canvas, or custom systems — all enforce file size limits. Large dissertations, image-rich research papers, and design portfolios frequently exceed these limits.

Docpressor handles large academic documents reliably. Set a 10-25MB target for a good balance of quality and size that meets most university portal requirements. Research figures and charts remain clear and publication-quality.

For final thesis and dissertation submissions, check if your university requires PDF/A format for the institutional repository. Docpressor provides PDF/A conversion alongside compression in the same platform.
